This week has been crazy because I moved back into my apartment in Boston as school started up again – my last semester! After 5 long years of studying, traveling, and working at amazing companies, it’s all coming to a wrap. I’ve met so many amazing people and have had so many experiences I could only dream about when I was in high school.
One thing that did come to a close already though was my family’s trips up to Woodstock in our little house we rented. I call it “ours” because my dad had started renting the place when HE was in college with friends and we’ve rented it ever since. Last year though we stopped going up and I’ve been missing Vermont so much! So last weekend for old time’s sake I took a trip up there with my boyfriend for a little getaway before school started again. We stayed at the Woodstock Inn and Resort – a hotel that I’ve been captivated by for years. We used to pass by the resort every time we’d go to our old house and I had always wanted to stay there. It was just as amazing as I had imagined it to be! Our room was so beautiful and cozy, and the spa was incredible and relaxing. When you walk in, you’re instantly warmed by the massive fireplace and intimate couches – all I wanted to do was snuggle up with a book right then and there. Keep scrolling for photos!
This is my favorite store in Woodstock – yes it is the General Store, but trust me, you have to go inside. It’s larger than it seems and you could get lost in here for 2 hours (like me).
After an amazing breakfast of the best goat cheese asparagus omelette I’ve ever had in the dining room, my boyfriend and I went off to go skiing (he skis, I snowboard) at the mountain where I learned to ski at when I was only 3 years old! I have to remember to thank my parents again for that one day. Suicide Six has transformed so much since I used to ski there as a kid. The ski shop has been remodeled and is completely redone, and the mountain is known for their ski school and team. 2017 is also the year of the quad for the mountain! It was also amazing to see that the J-bar where I learned was still there and as cute as ever! We got there before the mountain opened to grab some photos of the groomed snow, and had such a great day! The hot chocolate is also to die for here for all of the chocoholics out there.
Check out the Woodstock Inn and Resort on their website and Instagram and give them a follow! To see more photos of my trip to Woodstock, follow me on Instagram too at @misseleniius. And now that I’m back in Boston, I can look back on my photos and plan my next little weekend escape…. any ideas of where I should go to next? Comment below!
